“The country is not living its best moment, and people know it. There are real difficulties that are felt in homes, neighborhoods, and fields. But giving up is not an option. Betting on the Dominican Republic is to keep working, taking care of ourselves and pushing for things to improve”, expressed Martinez in a note from his office.

The politician maintained that wishing the country well is above any political difference, and that this implies hoping that the current government corrects what has failed, governs with greater sensitivity, and concludes its management responsibly, allowing the nation to advance with stability and without setbacks. “What we need is less violence, fewer avoidable deaths, and more opportunities. Real opportunities for youth, for entrepreneurs, for children, for people with disabilities, and for those who today live in vulnerable conditions,” he/she stated. Martínez highlighted that the Dominican Republic is a country of hardworking people, both inside and outside the national territory, with the energy and the will necessary to move forward. In that sense, he called to recover the sense of country, to see themselves as one big family and to put the collective well-being above individual interests. “2026 must be a year to bet on what is ours, to not lose hope and to do everything in our power so that the Dominican Republic finds a better course,” he concluded.
