Santiago.- The president Luis Abinader inaugurated this Sunday the Polytechnic in Arts Francisco Antonio Lora Cabrera (Ñico Lora) in the municipality of Navarrete, a modern educational center with 24 classrooms that will benefit 840 students.
The school has laboratories, a library, a school cafeteria and a theater for 300 people, as well as eight workshops specializing in dance, theater, music, cinema, photography, multimedia, artisanal production and visual arts, which will strengthen technical-artistic training.
The work honors the memory of the typical musician Francisco Antonio Lora Cabrera, a symbol of Dominican cultural identity.
The Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, highlighted that the polytechnic is part of the Government’s vision to expand technical-professional and artistic education.
During the event, the director of the center, Francis Humberto Rojas, assured that the educational community will assume the commitment to the quality of teaching, while students highlighted that the new space will be a boost for youth talent and creativity.
“More than 700 students and their teachers will continue to assume the unavoidable commitment to the quality of educational processes in favor of our students and their families,” said Rojas Santana.
While representing the students, Bermin Pichardo Reynoso, a fourth-grade student from the secondary level, spoke, highlighting that the Francisco Antonio Lora Cabrera Art Center is not just a building, but a space that fosters the talent, creativity, and cultural identity of Dominican youth.
