Army seizes more than 83 thousand units of smuggled cigarettes in Dajabón

Dajabón.- Members of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) seized a large shipment of cigarettes while it was being transported by two individuals aboard a Hyundai brand truck, white color, license plate L22120. The vehicle, driven by Kevin Durán, in the company of a young man identified as David Fiallo, was stopped at the La Aminilla Checkpoint. Upon being searched, a hidden compartment was discovered inside containing eight (8) boxes and 16 packs of cigarettes of the brand Capital.

The cargo, which yielded a total of 83,200 units, along with the two detainees, was transferred to the Fortaleza Beller, headquarters of the 10° Battalion in Dajabón.
