Army stops three Dominicans transporting seven undocumented immigrants on motorcycles in Valverde

Valverde, RD. – During a migration interdiction operation carried out in the Pueblo Nuevo sector of the municipality of Mao, Valverde province, three motorcycles were detained in which seven Haitian nationals were being transported in an irregular migratory condition, the action was executed by soldiers of the Army of the Dominican Republic, as part of the permanent security operations in the border area. The drivers detained were identified as Delmy Alejandro Sánchez, who was transporting two undocumented foreigners, Juan Manuel Vargas Colón, who was carrying three Haitian nationals, and José Alejandro Díaz, with two foreigners on board. In total, five men and two women of Haitian nationality were detained, along with the motorcycles used for their transport. The Army reported that both the detained Dominicans and the undocumented individuals, as well as the vehicles, were transferred to the headquarters of the 4th Infantry Brigade of the ERD, for the corresponding legal purposes.
