Criminal apprehended for bank robbery in San Juan; accomplice sought

Members of the Regional Sub-directorate of Investigation (DICRIM) of the National Police arrested an alleged criminal identified as one of those responsible for the theft of cash from a lottery booth in the municipality of San Juan de la Maguana, an event that occurred during the early morning hours and was captured by surveillance cameras.

He is Jonathan Estarling Rosario Jiménez (a) “Cadáver”, 34 years old, who was arrested in compliance with judicial order No. 1123/2026 for his alleged participation in the robbery perpetrated at the aforementioned betting establishment, located at the intersection of Doctor Cabral and San Antonio streets.

According to the investigation, the detainee allegedly acted in the company of Flavia Estecha Cruz Mencía, 24, who remains a fugitive and is being actively sought by the authorities.

The investigations establish that both entered the establishment in the early hours of the morning, allegedly after accessing through the main door, and stole the sum of RD$11,100 in cash from the cash register, to the detriment of the company’s supervisor.

The incident was recorded by the business’s video surveillance cameras, the footage of which is part of the evidence supporting the investigation. The case constitutes an alleged violation of articles 379 and 384 of the Dominican Penal Code, regarding theft.

The National Police reported that they are actively searching for the fugitive in order to place her at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and complete the investigative process.

Meanwhile, the detainee will be presented before the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
