Santo Domingo.– Agents of the Central Intelligence Directorate (DINTEL), in coordination with representatives of the Public Ministry, seized four bales of alleged marijuana, four packages of a white powder presumably cocaine, and more than five million pesos in cash during a series of raids carried out in different sectors of Santo Domingo Norte.
As a result of the interventions, three people were detained for investigative purposes, while the authorities deepen the inquiries related to the evidence found in the operations.
According to the preliminary report, during the operations, RD$5,021,050.00 in cash were confiscated, in addition to three pistols, a revolver, and two scales that were allegedly used for weighing narcotic substances.
The agents also seized several gold-colored garments and a blue Honda CR-V SUV, which are part of the evidence collected during the raids.

Likewise, eight slot machines that were operating irregularly in the intervened establishments were seized, in violation of the current legal provisions.
The authorities reported that all evidence was collected in accordance with established protocols and will be sent to the competent bodies for the corresponding analyses and the necessary legal procedures.
The National Police indicated that the detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue with the investigations to determine possible criminal liabilities derived from the findings.
These operations are part of the actions carried out by the authorities to combat drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, and other illicit activities in different communities of Greater Santo Domingo.
