Fire affects restaurant in shopping plaza in Santiago

Santiago.– A fire that occurred on Wednesday afternoon affected the Franchys restaurant, located on the third level of the Colinas Mall plaza, in Santiago.

So far, no injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

According to preliminary information, the fire originated around 6:00 p.m., forcing the evacuation of the customers and employees who were inside the establishment. No one was affected by the flames or smoke. Units from the Santiago Fire Department, National Police officers, paramedics from the 9-1-1 System, and members of other rescue organizations arrived at the scene.

The causes of the fire have not yet been determined, and so far the restaurant’s management has not offered official statements about the incident.
