During the interventions, the DNCD and the Public Ministry seized hundreds of grams of cocaine, marijuana, and crack.
Santo Domingo.— The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry arrested five people and seized hundreds of grams of various narcotic substances during a series of targeted operations in the municipality of Verón, Punta Cana, La Altagracia province.
Operational units redoubled interdiction actions in the sectors of Hoyo de Friusa, El Cortecito, and Villa Progreso. In total, the authorities managed to confiscate 342 grams of alleged cocaine, 622 grams of marijuana, and 57 doses of crack cocaine. Likewise, a scooter-type motorcycle, a cell phone, a scale, and cash were seized, among other pieces of evidence.
As a result of these interventions, Jasiel Cuevas, Anthony Peguero, Peter Santana, Leandro Alcántara, and Desiré Mejía were arrested and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry of La Altagracia for the corresponding legal purposes.

In recent weeks, authorities have intensified operations against micro-trafficking in the eastern region, managing to capture several distributors and removing thousands of grams of cocaine, marijuana, crack, and ecstasy from circulation.
