The Las Américas International Airport (AILA) reported that a flight from the airline Air Caraïbes bound for Paris had to return to the terminal on Thursday night due to a mechanical failure.
This is flight TX560, operated with an Airbus A330 (registration F-ORLY), which took off at 10:19 p.m. with 285 passengers on board bound for Orly Airport, in the French capital.
About 40 minutes after takeoff, the pilot decided to return to AILA as a precaution. Although no emergency was declared, the landing occurred without incident at 11:56 p.m., and the fire department conducted a routine inspection of the plane and the runway.
The flight was canceled, and passengers received assistance from the airline, including hotel accommodation while their itinerary was rearranged.
