Government suspends military parade on Monday, March 30, due to austerity

The Te Deum in commemoration of the heroes of the Battle of March 30th remains on the agenda, which will be headed by President Luis Abinader. Santo Domingo.- The Executive Branch announced the suspension of the traditional civic-military parade scheduled for this Monday, March 30, in Santiago, in compliance with the austerity measures recently adopted by the Government. The President’s Press Office reported, however, that the other commemorative activities in honor of the heroes of the Battle of March 30 are maintained, which will begin with the traditional Te Deum at the Metropolitan Cathedral Santiago Apóstol. The Abinader government values the patriotic traditions of Dominicans and the high morale of the members of the Armed Forces and the National Police; however, it understands that at this time it is necessary to save and prioritize the resources of the State, in the face of the post-war crisis in Iran.
