Haitian woman bites immigration officer during confrontation in Cristo Rey

Santo Domingo. A Haitian woman was injured Friday during a General Directorate of Migration (DGM) operation in the Cristo Rey sector after she resisted arrest and got into a confrontation with an immigration officer.

According to video circulating on social media, the woman grabbed the officer’s leg in an attempt to prevent her detention. During the struggle, she allegedly bit the officer, who then struck her on the head with a cellphone.

The woman suffered a visible head injury and later left the scene without being detained. The incident has sparked debate over the use of force during immigration operations.
