Injured woman reports that the aggressor was released in San Cristóbal

San Cristóbal.– Ramona Susana Franco Arias, resident of the Jeringa neighborhood, reported that she was the victim of an assault on May 18 in front of her house, when a young woman identified as Melissa de Olio attacked her with a bottle helmet, causing serious injuries that still keep her under medical observation. According to Franco Arias, the incident occurred when he left his home after hearing the aggressor breaking bottles at the entrance. When he confronted her about the action, De Olio allegedly reacted violently, confronted her, and ended up attacking her.

“She threw a bottle at me, cut my arm, and even ripped off a gold tooth,” the victim recounted, who assured that his life had completely changed since that day. He explained that he has had to undergo several blood transfusions, surgeries, and therapies, and that he runs the risk of being operated on again for tendon reconstruction. Franco Arias stated that the after-effects keep her practically incapacitated, unable to perform daily tasks or continue her work from home in the beauty area, which has directly affected her livelihood and that of her family. The complainant expressed her outrage after learning that, after four months on the run, the aggressor was arrested last Sunday and subsequently released. “I have trusted in justice and this happens. I ask for justice to be done because she came to look for me at the door of my house, where my children and nephews were, including a minor,” he stated with visible frustration. Finally, Franco Arias called on the judicial and police authorities to ensure that his case does not go unpunished and that an exemplary sanction is guaranteed against his aggressor.
