Santo Domingo. – The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) announced that, for the first time in the country’s history, the Dominican State will have total control of the software and source code of the driver’s license system, which guarantees technological sovereignty, security in citizens’ data, and transparency in the management of the service.The institution explained that the process of capturing, validating, and storing personal and biometric data will be carried out through secure and encrypted connections, under international information protection standards, without any foreign company having access to the national database.
“With this new system, the State regains technological sovereignty and definitively protects citizens’ information. This not only represents greater security, but also transparency and tangible benefits for the nation”, assured The Executive Director of Intrant, Milton Morrison.
