Man shot dead in his business in Villa Riva

Duarte.- A man identified as Jeyfri Alberto Cepeda Lantigua, 41 years old, died early this Monday after receiving multiple gunshot wounds in an incident that occurred in the municipal district of Agua Santa del Yuna (La Reforma), in the municipality of Villa Riva. According to the preliminary report, Cepeda Lantigua received four shots to the chest, one to the right arm, and another to the right side, as certified by the attending physician of the Municipal Hospital of Arenoso. The event was recorded around 12:35 in the morning, at a business selling alcoholic beverages owned by the victim, identified as “D’ Sarah Smoke VIP and Bar”, located on the main street of La Reforma.

According to the report from the National Police, the incident originated during a discussion between a man identified only as Alex and the alleged perpetrator, known as Rony. Cepeda Lantigua intervened to mediate the altercation, at which point Rony allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot him, causing his death on the spot. The alleged aggressor is at large, although the authorities reported that he resides in the Cristo Rey municipal district of Guaraguao. Agents from the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM) are carrying out the corresponding investigations and are maintaining the search to apprehend the person responsible and bring them to justice.
