MINERD intervenes Liceo Pedro Mir and removes director

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Education (MINERD) reported that a technical commission is provisionally intervening in the direction of the Pedro Mir Educational Center for the Arts, replacing the person in charge of the school, while an internal investigation is underway. With the intervention of the center located in the Jardines del V Centenario urbanization, in Santo Domingo Este, it seeks to guarantee a suitable environment for students and the educational community. The principal is no longer in charge of the administration and the MINERD explains that the decision responds to its commitment to ensure order and quality in educational processes, as well as to provide a timely response to concerns expressed by students’ families.

The designated commission will be in charge of the daily management of the high school and the supervision of the center’s operations until the investigation is concluded and definitive provisions are adopted. The Ministry emphasized that its priority is to preserve the well-being of students and reinforce the community’s trust in the public education system.
