Minerd rejects aggression against professor in Villa Consuelo and activates disciplinary protocols

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic reiterated this Friday its categorical rejection of any form of violence in the country’s educational centers, while expressing its solidarity with the teacher of the Juan Pablo Duarte high school who was allegedly assaulted by two students.

The institution reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of educational staff and the construction of safe, harmonious, and aggression-free school environments. The pronouncement came after an incident recorded at an educational center in Educational District 15-02, belonging to Regional 15 of Santo Domingo, where teacher Naony Anderson was affected. According to the entity, the corresponding protocols were activated, support was provided to the teacher, and the relevant actions were coordinated with the competent organizations and the families involved, respecting the due process established in the current regulations. The ministry recalled that the school should be a space for respect, dialogue, and values education, and emphasized that conflicts should be channeled through institutional mechanisms of coexistence, school mediation, and socio-emotional guidance, strengthening the co-responsibility between the school and the family. He also emphasized that violence has no place in the classrooms and assured that he will continue to reinforce preventive strategies, the promotion of a culture of peace, and joint work with the educational community to guarantee protective environments for students and teachers.
