Three other Haitian nationals remain hospitalized in serious condition
Santiago.- As Paterson Pie, approximately 30 years old, the Haitian national in irregular migratory status who died early this Friday was identified, after falling from a fourth floor, while trying to evade a Migration operation in the province of Santiago.
According to preliminary information, Pie lost his life when he tried to escape upon noticing the presence of members of the General Directorate of Migration of the Dominican Republic (DGM), while he was in building 80 known as La Nana and jumped to another, but did not achieve his goal and fell to the pavement.
Neighbors who knew the foreigner reported that he earned a living on the street selling cell phone accessories. In that sense, they deplored the act, while valuing the work that migration carries out.
The medical examiner who examined the body certified the death of Paterson Pie, which has generated outrage among his compatriots who question the actions of the immigration authorities.

In the operation, three undocumented individuals were also injured, who were taken to a medical center where they remain in serious condition. Members of the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dicrim) and the Public Ministry are investigating the case without offering details about what happened at the moment. The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) has not addressed the tragic event recorded in the middle of the operation, while the relatives of the deceased are asking to clarify the death.
