Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that, although moisture levels will remain low across the national territory, an upper-level trough and the effects of daytime heating will favor the occurrence of downpours and thunderstorms in several provinces during the afternoon this Friday.
During the morning hours, rainfall will remain limited, with only widely isolated showers recorded in localities of Peravia, San Cristóbal, San Pedro de Macorís, and Greater Santo Domingo, associated with moisture transport by the wind.

However, in the afternoon and into the early evening hours, cloud increases are expected, accompanied by downpours, thunderstorms, and possible wind gusts over provinces in the north and northwest of the country, including Santiago, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Monte Cristi, Puerto Plata, La Vega, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, María Trinidad Sánchez, and Samaná.
Meteorological authorities indicated that the presence of Saharan dust will continue to affect air quality and increase the heat index, especially for people with allergies or respiratory diseases.
Given these conditions, it is recommended to stay hydrated, wear light-colored and lightweight clothing, avoid prolonged sun exposure between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and remain in cool, ventilated places.

In Greater Santo Domingo, partly cloudy skies are expected at times, with isolated showers during the early hours of the day in the National District, Santo Domingo Oeste, and Santo Domingo Este, while scattered clouds will prevail in Santo Domingo Norte.
Minimum temperatures will range between 24 °C and 26 °C, while maximums will remain between 31 °C and 33 °C.
