Young baseball player dies after accidental collision during softball game in San José de Ocoa

San José de Ocoa.– A young sportsman died on Wednesday night while participating in a softball game at the play of the sports complex of San José de Ocoa, after suffering a strong impact during a play on the field. The victim was identified as “Orelvis Pujols”, who lost his life after accidentally colliding with a teammate when both were trying to catch a fly ball.

The unfortunate event occurred during a match of the San José de Ocoa Christian Soccer League tournament, in which the teams Marlon MultiServices and Bizcochos con Gracia faced each other. In a play between the center fielder and the shortstop, both players ran towards the ball and collided violently. After the impact, Pujols fell to the ground, causing shock among players, referees, and attendees.
