Anthony Guidera, known for his roles in The Godfather Part III and Species, passed away on Saturday at the age of 65 after three weeks on life support, following a sudden cardiac arrest at his home in California.
His wife, Valarie Guidera, confirmed the news to TMZ and explained that on May 11, while the couple was in the living room of their home in Southern California, Anthony collapsed without warning and his heart stopped functioning.
The actor was rushed to a hospital, where he remained on life support for three weeks.
After that period had elapsed, and in compliance with the guidelines he had previously established himself, the doctors proceeded to disconnect him so that he could be taken home and have a natural death. The cause of death remains an enigma.

According to Valarie, specialists have not been able to determine what caused the cardiac arrest.
The widow shared a message on Facebook on Saturday in which she expressed her grief: “It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony,” she wrote.

Anthony Guidera was born in San Francisco on October 18, 1960.
Before dedicating himself to acting, he lived for approximately a decade in Paris, where he appeared in commercials and worked as a model under the name James Guidera, in addition to participating in plays.

Later, he moved to New York, where he studied with Robert Lewis at The Actors Studio.
His film debut came in 1990, when Francis Ford Coppola chose him for The Godfather Part III. Guidera worked for five months on that production, where he played a bodyguard named, precisely, Anthony.

In 1995, he joined the cast of Species, directed by Roger Donaldson, where he shared the screen with Natasha Henstridge. His character, Robbie, does not suspect that Henstridge’s character is a human-alien hybrid when he forces her to kiss him, with lethal consequences for him.

The following years found him in large-scale productions. In 1996 he appeared in The Rock, by Michael Bay, and in 1998 he was part of the cast of Armageddon, also directed by Bay, in both cases in the role of a pilot.
In the intermediate period, he participated in The Postman, by Kevin Costner, in 1997, and in ‘Til There Was You, by Scott Winant, that same year.
In 1999, Guidera appeared in The Annihilation of Fish, by Charles Burnett, where he played a gun salesman, a credit that turned out to be the last of his film career.
