Dominican television host Clarissa Molina responded to negative comments she has received on social media about remaining single following the end of her relationship with Vicente Saavedra.
In a video posted on Instagram, the former beauty queen addressed comments about her relationship status and reflected on the importance of learning to be comfortable with solitude instead of feeling pressured to enter a relationship simply to avoid being alone.
“We were taught to fear being alone,” Molina said, emphasizing that learning to live with oneself can bring peace and help people avoid accepting the wrong company out of fear of loneliness. She also stressed the importance of carefully choosing the people, thoughts and environments allowed into one’s life.
Molina said that building emotional stability is important for developing healthy romantic relationships. According to the presenter, being emotionally grounded can help people avoid depending on someone else to define, save or fill them.
She also spoke about resisting social pressure to be in a relationship and encouraged people to establish firm boundaries. Molina said that being comfortable with oneself provides the freedom to heal, avoid repeating unhealthy relationship patterns and allow people into their lives who contribute to the peace they have worked to build.
Molina has remained single since ending her relationship with Saavedra, to whom she was engaged. The couple announced their breakup in May 2023 after postponing their wedding for nearly a year. At the time, Molina said she had been very happy in the relationship and described it as a beautiful experience, but did not disclose the reason for their separation.
