Danny Ocean joins celebration of Venezuelans in SD after Maduro’s arrest

Santo Domingo. – Venezuelan urban artist Danny Ocean joined the celebration of dozens of Venezuelans residing in Santo Domingo, on the Malecón, specifically in the Güibia area, on Saturday night, following the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro by the United States government. The activity, marked by music, flags, and slogans, brought together citizens who expressed their rejection of the Venezuelan government and their hope for a political change in that South American country. Danny Ocean, one of the Venezuelan artists who has protested the most against the regime through his songs, took advantage of his stay in the country to share the same sentiment with the attendees and, in turn, take photographs, expressing his support for the Venezuelan community abroad.

The artist initially arrived on board a vehicle, from where they greeted their compatriots and took photos with them, and then got out of the vehicle to share more closely with all the protesters. At this meeting, Danny arrived accompanied by his girlfriend, Dominican model and actress Mar Bonnelly, who was seen taking photos and videos of him with his fans. This public appearance of Danny Ocean is not new, as the artist has been a direct detractor of Nicolás Maduro’s regime, both in his songs and in his public appearances and through his social networks. In songs like “Imagine”, Danny had expressed the dream of being able to return to his country, Venezuela, in the form of metaphors.

“When I can return, I would like to take you to Los Roques, Mami, I have a friend who will arrange the boat for us. So you can get to know my seas, its sky and all its colors”, says an excerpt from the song.

Furthermore, Danny Ocean captivated at the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo, Norway, opening the event with an emotional performance of “Alma Llanera” and “Venezuela,” a tribute to his native country and the awardee María Corina Machado, moving everyone and carrying the voice of the Venezuelan diaspora.
