Dominican artist El Cata will be the local opening act for the highly anticipated concert that American rapper Rick Ross will offer on July 4th at the Imagine nightclub (The Cave), in Punta Cana. The performance will be part of the United States Independence Day celebrations and will bring together fans of urban and tropical music in one of the most important tourist destinations in the Caribbean.

In conversation with De Último Minuto, the performer expressed his enthusiasm for being part of this international show. “Very happy, grateful, always thanking all the Dominican people for their support, and God. Happy with this July 4th concert together with Rick Ross”, stated the singer, who will be in charge of opening the event.

Regarding what the public can expect from his performance, El Cata teased that he is preparing a show loaded with energy, visual effects, and his greatest hits. “In these times we are living in, you can feel how music has impacted the world globally. My audience is going to expect the best from me, which is a good show. I love confetti, lights, smoke, dancers, colors, little mirrors, and, above all, the hits, the successes, and the energizing vibe, things that, within the norm, are not always seen in these types of events,” he explained.

The concert is produced by Raymond Ramsey and Franklin de la Cruz, who have highlighted the importance of including Dominican talent in events of this magnitude. As they shared during the official presentation of the show, one of the main objectives is to showcase local artists alongside international figures, thus strengthening the entertainment industry in the Dominican Republic.

Tickets for the event are now available starting at US$180 per person and include an open bar. Additionally, attendees will be able to purchase VIP and VIP Premium spaces with exclusive tables and bottle service. The doors of Imagine Punta Cana will open starting at 9:30 PM, in a night that promises a high-level production and possible special guests.

In parallel to this presentation, El Cata continues to develop new musical projects. Among them, his most recent collaboration with merengue artist Toño Rosario, titled “Foto de Perfil,” stands out. The artist stated he felt honored to work alongside one of the most iconic figures of Dominican merengue, of whom he claimed to be a loyal admirer, while continuing to bet on proposals that fuse rhythms and connect with different generations.
