Santo Domingo, RD – The confirmation of the murder of the girl Brianna Genao at the hands of her uncles Rafael Rosario Núñez, 52 years old, and Reyes Rosario Núñez, 43, has caused a deep shock in Dominican society, generating reactions of pain, indignation and reflection from different sectors of the country and abroad. Figures from local and international media and entertainment used their social media to express their dismay at a crime that has highlighted the lack of empathy and respect for children and the evil that exists in society. Communicator Sandra Berrocal, visibly affected, expressed during a live broadcast the fear that grips many Dominican mothers today. “You’re already afraid, you don’t trust anyone anymore, you don’t even believe in family,” she expressed through tears.

From a spiritual and social perspective, Pastor Yesenia Then shared a reflection on her social media, assuring that this type of tragedy reveals a deep moral crisis. “Humanity needs God, not religion, but a real relationship that transforms hearts and restores conscience”, she wrote, also citing the biblical passage of Jeremiah 17:9 to illustrate the condition of the human heart.

The Brianna Genao case has generated great consternation because it involves an event where those responsible are people close to the family, once again highlighting that the aggressors are part of the victims’ closest environment. While the authorities continue the corresponding judicial process, Dominican society remains plunged into pain and outrage, demanding justice for Brianna and stronger measures to prevent tragedies like this from happening again.“I can’t understand. Isn’t there fear of God? Isn’t there fear in the family? The family is supposed to take care of you, because if not… who? I always tell mine, in good Dominican: grab those kids tight, and don’t trust anyone!”, shared Génesis.
