Santiago de los Caballeros, DR – The renowned communicator Nelson Javier stated during a recent broadcast of his program Buena Noche that the businessman Santiago Matías is the one who truly deserves the Gran Soberano in the next edition of the important award. Likewise, he showed his disagreement with the proposal that in the Premios Soberano 2026 two maximum awards be given, an idea that has been circulating in different programs and on social networks in recent days. “El Cocodrilo” clarified that Jochy Santos, one of the most respected figures in the country’s media, is like a brother to him, but even so, he firmly stated: “let him leave there.” He assured that, if Santiago Matías had not been in entertainment, it would have been a hard blow that the award was given only to the so-called Funny Man.

He also added: “Santiago Matías you dislike, you like, you feel neutral about, you find annoying, but Santiago Matías is a reality. A reality that has made all of us who work in media, radio, and television, struggle: the owners, the producers, everyone. Nelson Javier’s statements come after a clip from Jochy Santos’ program went viral on social media in recent days, in which they debated who deserved the Gran Soberano, the highest award at the Soberano Awards. In that space, one of the panelists proposed the possibility of awarding two prizes: one for Jochy Santos for his career and another for Santiago Matías for the success of his reality show La Casa de Alofoke.“If Santiago Matías hadn’t been involved in this problem, Jochy is my brother, a great guy, but Jochy should leave.
