Karol G revealed the toll that performing on tour takes. The 35-year-old Colombian musician began the Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour concerts last month and recently appeared on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, where she spoke about the transformation her body undergoes during the intense tour schedule.
“When you start traveling that much and touring every day, you need specific things that help,” she said, adding that performing multi-hour shows for days in a row makes her lose weight “very fast.” This means that routine changes must be made to her outfits, she explained. “It’s crazy. Every two weeks, they have to make a costume adjustment because [you perform] three hours every day and it’s hard on the body.”
Karol G’s upcoming shows will include a rotation of outfits made by Roberto Cavalli, Rabanne, Pucci, Chrome Hearts, and Etro. Speaking about her wardrobe, she said she will have a “crazy amount” of outfits since the show itself includes six costume changes, highlights People en Español.
Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour began in July at Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago and will conclude in Milan on July 24, 2027. The tour was announced after the performer became the first Latina artist to headline the renowned Coachella music festival last April.
During her performance, featuring light shows, fireworks, and water effects, the artist spoke about achieving this milestone while giving a shout-out to the Latino community. “I just want to say that before me there were more Latino artists, legendary artists, who gave me the opportunity to be here tonight. So this is not just about me, it’s about my Latino community, it’s about my people,” she asserted.
“This is also for my Latinos who have been struggling in this country. We stand in solidarity with them; I stand in solidarity with my Latino community, and at the same time, I am very proud because this brings out the best in us: unity, resilience, and a strong spirit,” she added in her message.
