The Miss World Dominican Republic Mayra Delgado, representative of the Dominican Republic in the 72nd edition of Miss World which is taking place in Telangana, India, paraded with her typical costume “Golden Roots” inspired by the Taimáscaros of Puerto Plata in the opening ceremony of the international pageant.
23-year-old Delgado, who holds a degree in Business Management and Administration, with certifications from institutions such as Harvard Business School, Barna Management School, and Wilkes University, left last weekend for the Miss World 2025 competition, seeking the second crown for the country.

Since her departure to the contest headquarters, Mayra has shown desire, passion, and commitment, standing out among the 140 participating countries in each appearance, during the contest’s concentration.
At the inaugural gala of the Delgado contest, she wore a spectacular traditional dress, designed and made by the master Dr. Yanco Souffront.
According to a press release, “this piece is not only a work of art, but also a vibrant testament to our rich cultural heritage.”
The suit pays homage to the mineral wealth of the Dominican Republic, incorporating gold and amber as central elements.
However, its true symbolic power resides in the fusion of the three cultures that have shaped the Dominican identity: the Taíno, the Spanish, and the African.
Miss World 2025 will be held on Saturday, May 31 in Telangana, India, with the participation of more than 140 countries. The event will be broadcast live and direct for the entire Dominican Republic through Telecentro, Channel 13.

Mayra is the founder and president of AIP Breast Prevention & Care RD, a social project that since 2021 has impacted more than 3,500 women in vulnerable communities through breast cancer prevention campaigns. This initiative offers free sonomammograms, educational talks, and leadership and emotional intelligence workshops, promoting female empowerment, self-care, and access to quality health resources. More than saving lives, her mission is to bring hope, emotional support, and dignity to women going through difficult times.
The project has been recognized for its high impact and was the winner of the first place in the “Beauty with Purpose” competition of Miss Mundo Dominicana, receiving honorable mentions from the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic, the Ministry of Youth and the Dominican Consulate in NY.
In addition, she has led the Manos Surcadas RD foundation since 2016, dedicated to the accompaniment and support of senior citizens in situations of abandonment. These solidarity actions reflect her deep commitment to the most vulnerable populations of the Dominican Republic.
In the business realm, Mayra is CEO of Premium Class Modeling Academy, a modeling and comprehensive training academy in the country, with over 200 active students. From there, she will train the next generation of models, professionals, and leaders under principles of excellence, self-esteem, and purpose.
As a communicator, she has been a panelist in international forums alongside authorities such as the Minister of Youth, presenter of the SonoScape Distributors Summit in Mexico City and Panama, and host of the Dominican Fashion Awards in various categories.
