Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, reportedly died from a suspected drug overdose while staying at a rehabilitation facility in California.
Sources told TMZ that Crawford and Rande Gerber were informed that their son’s death was the result of an overdose. At the time, Gerber was living with several other people in a separate house on the grounds of the Los Angeles-area treatment center.
However, the medical examiner has not determined Gerber’s official cause of death. An autopsy, including toxicology testing, was still pending to determine whether drugs were present in his system at the time of his death.
Gerber followed his mother and sister, Kaia Gerber, into modeling, signing with IMG Models at 15 and making his runway debut the following year. The report also noted that he had struggled with substance abuse and mental health issues and was arrested for DUI in 2018. He later pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor charge and completed probation, community service and a DUI program.
The Gerber-Crawford family has asked for privacy following his death.
