Following his outstanding surprise appearance at Coachella during Weekend 2 of Karol G, Castro brought that same energy to Medellín with a show that defined his career, accompanied by 17 special guests. The night had as one of its most outstanding moments the participation of Sean Paul, who performed with Castro “Ba Ba Bad Remix” live for the first time, in addition to performances by Maluma, Feid, Arcángel and J Balvin, who joined on stage to perform songs from their upcoming joint album Omertà, consolidating the concert as one of the most important encounters of Latin music globally this year.

At the center of the production, an unprecedented stage stood out: the largest ever built in the stadium in a non-360 format, setting a new standard for live entertainment in Colombia. Designed with a proposal inspired by Curaçao, it transformed the venue into a completely immersive experience, reflecting Ryan Castro’s evolution from El Cantante del Ghetto to the sound of Caribbean roots that he explores in Sendé and Hopi Sendé.

The impact of the event transcended the stadium. In a key cultural moment, the city of Medellín joined the concert with the launch of a special edition Cívica card by the Medellín Metro, which also operated with 24-hour service, in homage to Castro and this historic presentation. The initiative is part of the city’s tradition of integrating mobility with culture, as has already been seen with global artists such as Madonna, Beyoncé and Karol G. The success of his show in Medellín comes before the release of his highly anticipated joint album Omertà with J Balvin, scheduled for May 7.

ABOUT RYAN CASTRO:
Ryan Castro is a global reggaeton and dancehall artist whose impact goes far beyond music, connecting culture, community, sports, and entrepreneurship. Known as “El Cantante Del Ghetto” (The Singer From The Ghetto), Castro is a Colombian artist who went from singing on the streets of the Pedregal neighborhood in Medellín to becoming one of the most influential figures in Latin music worldwide.

Before his leap to fame with the single “Morena” in 2017, Ryan lived in Curaçao, where he immersed himself in reggae and dancehall, sounds that still define his musical identity today with a strong Caribbean essence. He achieved international recognition with hits like “Mujeriego” and “Jordan”, both entering the Billboard Global 200 and the Spotify Global Top 50. His Diamond-certified hit “QUEMA”, along with Peso Pluma, further consolidated his place among the leading Latin artists in the world.
In 2024, Ryan released his debut album El Cantante Del Ghetto, certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA, and presented the global and viral anthem “El Ritmo Que Nos Une” for the Colombian National Football Team, marking an unprecedented cultural moment that united music and sports. That same year, Rolling Stone U.S. named him part of Future 25, highlighting him as one of the artists shaping the future of music and global culture.
2025 was a historic year for Ryan, fueled by sold-out arena tours in the United States, becoming the first Colombian artist to acquire a stake in a professional sports team, the Paisas Basketball Club of Medellín, his hometown, and launching one of Colombia’s most successful entertainment collaborations: his “Romantik Style” chocolate bar with Jumbo, which surpassed 1.2 million units sold. That same year, he released two critically acclaimed albums, Sendé and Hopi Sendé, which highlight his Caribbean essence, influenced by the dancehall and reggae he absorbed during his time in Curaçao.
In 2026, Ryan’s momentum reached new heights when his single “La Villa”, from his third album Hopi Sendé, became a global phenomenon: it reached #31 on the global chart, reaching #1 in several Latin American markets. Today, Ryan Castro is consolidated as one of the largest and most successful Latin artists in the world, constantly breaking barriers and redefining what it means to be a global artist on stage, in culture and beyond.
