Santo Domingo.- The film festival made with cell phones, Smartfilms, announced the opening of its first category dedicated to local talent, offering Dominicans the opportunity to create a five-minute short film and compete for a prize of RD$300,000.
Under the name “
Dominicana Vibra”, the category seeks to highlight the best of the national identity. According to actors and producers
Evelyna Rodríguez and Danilo Reynoso explained to Listín Diario, the participants can focus their shorts on three axes:
- Culture: gastronomy, festivities, rhythms, crafts and historical places.
- Human: life stories, musicians, artisans, athletes and representative figures.
- Nature: landscapes, beaches, rivers, mountains and other tourist resources.
The initiative promotes creativity through the use of mobile devices and offers a showcase for emerging filmmakers to celebrate the Dominican essence.
