Former Catholic priest of Italian origin Sandro Ferretto has officially left the priesthood to marry his partner, Sharon Jepngok.
Ferretto served as a parish priest in Kasiela and Mochongoi, in Kenya’s Baringo South region, before deciding to leave the priesthood after years of service in the African country.
As he transitions from clerical life to family life, Ferretto has also formally embraced the traditions and culture of the Tugen community, to which his wife, Sharon, belongs.
