The plane landed at the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, which serves Caracas. This is flight number 117 since Caracas and Washington signed a migration agreement for the repatriation of migrants at the end of January last year, which was maintained even amid tensions over the US military deployment in the Caribbean Sea. The migrants were received through the Gran Misión Vuelta a la Patria, the government program that promotes the voluntary return of Venezuelans who are outside their country. On Monday, 111 Venezuelans returned on a repatriation flight from Miami, USA, the Ministry of Interior and Justice reported at the time. According to official figures, more than 20,000 migrants have returned to Venezuela since February 2025 on repatriation flights.
