A 15-year-old boy was rescued after spending nearly two days in the water on an overturned boat off the coast of Alaska.

The teenager had gone fishing with two companions, including his older brother and cousin, when the boat overturned overnight on September 5.

The boy remained with the overturned vessel until the morning of September 7, when a U.S. Coast Guard aircraft spotted him. The military dropped survival supplies, after which a nearby vessel reached the area and rescued the teenager from the water.

The boy was suffering from hypothermia. The bodies of the two other people who died in the incident, including his older brother and cousin, were also recovered from the water.
