A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Japan early Sunday, injuring at least 37 people across five prefectures, most of them with minor injuries.
Many people were hurt after falling out of bed or hitting furniture while rushing to safety during the quake. There was no tsunami warning, and no damage was reported at nuclear power plants.
The earthquake also caused train delays and damaged a water pipe in Tokyo.
