According to the Geophysical Institute, the earthquake took place at 06:03 local time (11:03 GMT) at 1.81 degrees south latitude and 77.39 degrees west longitude.

According to the source, the tremor occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers and 76.91 kilometers from the city of Puyo.
