Mexico City.- Mexican authorities arrested ten people, including a leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) who was coordinating criminal activities in the Mexican states of Nayarit and Tlaxcala.
Security sources and local media detailed that the alleged criminal arrested is José Guadalupe Ahumada Villegas, alias ‘M4’.

The captured individuals are linked to the crimes of homicide, kidnapping, extortion, drug dealing, cargo transport robbery, arms trafficking, illegal extraction and sale of hydrocarbons, and are members of the aforementioned criminal organization.
In a joint statement, security agencies indicated that in the state of Nayarit, agents executed seven searches of properties in the municipalities of Tepic and Xalisco, Nayarit, where they captured 10 people, including Ahumada Villegas.

In the properties, they seized three long guns, three vehicles, and various cell phones.
The detainees, along with the confiscated items, were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Prosecutor’s Office agent, who will continue the investigations and determine their legal status, while the premises remained sealed and under the custody of the authorities.
Agents from the Secretariats of the Navy (Semar), through the Mexican Navy, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) participated in the operation.

In addition to the arrest of the aforementioned subject, 15 high-end vehicles and various assets with an approximate value of more than 145 million pesos (about 8.2 million dollars) were seized, which affects the financial structure of the criminal group.
