A car struck a group of pedestrians waiting at a traffic light in the Russian city of Omsk, leaving eight people injured, including the driver.
According to preliminary reports, the 64-year-old driver is believed to have suffered a sudden medical emergency while behind the wheel, causing the vehicle to continue forward without slowing down.
Video from the scene shows the car driving directly onto a pedestrian island where several people were waiting to cross the street. The pedestrians had little time to react before being hit.
All of the injured, including the driver, were taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
