The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, once again demanded an end to the economic blockade imposed by the U.S. against her country, calling to remember that it has significantly affected the local economy due to the restrictions on the hydrocarbon industries.
“No more blockades against our country. The business sector has also been a victim of the blockade. Entrepreneurs, private businesswomen, academics, professors, […], have been victims of the blockade; the workers of our country have been victims of the blockade. And enough“, expressed the president in a meeting with entrepreneurs of the sector, in reference to the request that she made the day before to her American counterpart, Donald Trump.

In that regard, she thanked “the
expressions of respect” towards her and “towards the Government of Venezuela” from Trump, but she allowed herself to insist on her demand: “We told him: look, President,
stop the blockade against Venezuela, no more sanctions against Venezuela. And I say it today also in the company of the business sector of hydrocarbons”.
“In the year 2025, [hydrocarbon entrepreneurs] […] had
an investment exceeding 900 million dollars in a context, I repeat, of a blocked economy. […] And
that investment has been respected, we are going to continue respecting it and we demand that it be respected. The investment that has been made in Venezuela in the hydrocarbon industry must be respected. I ask this as acting president […]”,

Rodríguez alleged that Venezuela is “showing signs as a country that there are ways to
achieve a bilateral energy agenda with the U.S. that is respectful, cooperative, and effective”, as he was able to ascertain during his recent visit by the Secretary of Energy of the North American country, Christopher Wright.
“I believe that is a request from the entire country. It is not from the acting president – which, of course, is a battle I am going to fight with all my conscience and all the strength of my heart –, […], it is a request from all of Venezuela, from all of Venezuela,” she added.
