Nepalese authorities have raised the death toll from the massive floods to 360 after the Bhote Khosi River overflowed and devastated communities near the border with Tibet.
Police reported that 445 people have been rescued alive, including 27 foreigners, while 644 tourists remain missing.
Among those rescued was an elderly woman who was buried in mud, rocks and ice after the devastating surge. Rescuers found her in shock and covered in mud, but managed to bring her to safety.
The WHO estimates that around 10,000 families need urgent assistance and warned that the number of victims and extent of the damage could change as rescue teams reach more affected areas.
