Editorial.- Former U.S. President Joe Biden (2021-2025) assured this Friday that he has already started treatment for his prostate cancer and that the expectations are good. “The prognosis is good. We are working on everything. It is progressing and I feel good. Everyone is very optimistic,” he said after having given a speech in Delaware in honor of those fallen in war, in what was his public reappearance since his illness was announced in mid-May.
According to the 82-year-old former Democratic president, “it’s a matter of taking a specific pill for the next six weeks and then another one.”

“The expectation is that we will be able to overcome this. It’s not in any organ, my bones are strong, it hasn’t penetrated,” he pointed out in statements collected by The Washington Post newspaper.
On May 18th, it was announced that Biden is suffering from aggressive prostate cancer. The statement from his office specified, however, that there was metastasis in the bones. The previous week he had been examined “for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing an increase in urinary symptoms”.
Although the current president, Republican Donald Trump, initially wished him a “speedy and successful recovery,” shortly afterwards he questioned why the population was not informed earlier about his illness and urged that explanations be offered in this regard.
