NEW YORK.- The council member for the 10th district in Upper Manhattan, Ydanis Rodriguez, presented his final annual “Accountability” report this Sunday before nearly a thousand residents of the Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods and special guests.
He reported on all the work carried out during the past year, detailing his accomplishments so that Northern Manhattan continues to improve.
He explained the improvements to parks, schools, and cultural institutions, as well as more than 1.1 million dollars in expense funding for community-based service providers, including senior centers.
Likewise, after-school programs, park programming, and organizations that fight for immigrants and poverty, among other achievements.
This eleventh “Accountability Report” will be the last one as a board member and we have comprehensively detailed the achievements, initiatives, and the legacy we will leave behind, he said.

The event was held before politicians, business owners, professionals, community members, bodega owners, taxi drivers, and ordinary citizens, at the George Washington school, located on Audubon Avenue and 193rd Street.
For his part, the candidate for mayor of the Big Apple, Eric Adams, attended the event and stated, “Ydanis, you have served this city very well as an activist, council member, and student, fighting at CUNY, defending this community for a long time.
“I am very happy to say that starting January 1st you will be in my administration to lead this city in the right direction,” stated the virtual winner of the elections to be held this coming November 2nd.

While U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer thanked the Dominican community for their support of Democratic leaders.
“Dominicans are the future of this city, rest assured that from the Senate and with the support of President Biden we will continue to provide more benefits to undocumented Dominicans and we will expand the TPS for Haitians and Dominicans who need it,” said Schumer.
