Santiago, Chile.– The President of Chile, José Antonio Kast, reported that the Government has activated a broad preventive deployment ahead of the arrival of a high-intensity frontal system that will affect the country over the coming days, with rain and strong winds expected between the Atacama and Los Lagos regions.
The president explained that State institutions are already coordinating actions to face possible emergencies derived from the meteorological phenomenon. In that sense, he indicated that the ministries, presidential delegations, the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (SENAPRED), the Fire Department, the Carabineros, the Armed Forces, and other public agencies are working jointly with municipalities and regional governments to respond in a timely manner wherever necessary.

Kast called on the population to stay informed through official channels, follow the instructions of local authorities, and adopt the necessary preventive measures in light of the magnitude of the frontal system. Likewise, he urged citizens to collaborate with preventive actions to reduce the risks associated with the intense rainfall and strong winds.
Chilean authorities are maintaining permanent monitoring of the phenomenon’s evolution, which could cause significant rainfall accumulation, intense winds, and other emergency situations in various areas of the country, for which they reiterated the call for prevention and self-care.
