Moscow. – The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree this Monday that prohibits foreign vessels from docking in Russian ports without the permission of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
The document also obliges the creation of a special group within the FSB that will be in charge of considering the requests of the captains of maritime ports.
The decree comes into effect on the day it is signed, that is, today.
Until now, the authorization for the docking of foreign vessels was the responsibility of the Ministry of Transportation.
A special procedure was established only in cases where the port in question shared territory with a naval base.
