Moscow.- The Kremlin denied today that it is considering abandoning the peace negotiations with Ukraine after the recent “terrorist attacks” perpetrated by Kyiv on Russian territory.
“At yesterday’s meeting, the Foreign Minister (Sergey Lavrov) expressed his opinion that, despite this, it is necessary to continue contacts at a technical level, a point of view that was supported by the head of state,” Vladimir Putin, said Dmitry Peskov, presidential spokesman, in his daily telephone press conference.
At the same time, he stressed that “the fact that the Kyiv regime has acquired all the traits of a terrorist regime cannot be disregarded in the future. It will be taken into account.”
Regarding the derailment of two trains last weekend in the Bryansk and Kursk regions with a balance of seven dead and more than one hundred injured, which Moscow accuses Kiev of, Peskov stressed that, “without a doubt, those decisions are impossible without the participation of the top political leaders” of Ukraine.
Putin on Wednesday rejected a possible ceasefire in Ukraine and also ruled out a summit with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, after accusing him of betting on terrorism against civilian targets on Russian territory.

“As of today, amidst great losses, retreating on all sectors of the front, in an attempt to intimidate Russia, the Kiev leadership has moved to organize terrorist attacks,” Putin said during a government meeting broadcast live on television.“At the same time, they are asking to cease military actions for 30 or even 60 days. They are asking for a meeting at the highest level. But how can one hold such a meeting in these conditions? To talk about what? Who converses with someone who bets on terror, with terrorists?” he asserted.A visibly angry Putin wondered what he can talk about with someone (Zelensky), who is interested in terrorism and not peace.
