BANGKOK. A school shooting in Thailand caused moments of panic this Wednesday after a high school student entered the educational center armed and fired several shots, with no casualties reported.

The incident occurred around 14:20 local time (7:20 GMT) at a school located in the province of Kamphaeng Phet, in the center of the country.

According to the province’s Public Relations Office, the student is 15 years old and allegedly used a 9-millimeter caliber pistol during the incident.

Students and teachers panicked

Provincial authorities indicated that the shots caused fear among the students and teaching staff who were inside the educational center.

The young man, according to official information, was receiving treatment for depression. Authorities have not provided other details regarding his condition or the circumstances that led him to enter the school armed.
