The White House lashes out at a ‘South Park’ episode that mocks Trump
Los Ángeles (EE.UU.),.- The White House lashed out this Thursday against ‘South Park’ after the premiere of an episode in which US President Donald Trump is satirized with sexual references and comparisons to the devil.
“This program has not been relevant in over 20 years and is barely sustained by uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt to get attention. President Trump has fulfilled more promises in just six months than any other president in the history of our country, and no fourth-rate program will be able to stop his good streak,” said Taylor Rogers, spokeswoman for the White House, in a statement addressed to EFE.
The broadcast coincided with the announcement of a $1.5 billion deal between Paramount and the show’s creators to produce 50 new episodes.
In this first chapter of season 27 titled ‘Sermon on the Mount’, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone harshly criticize the policies and actions that Trump has already carried out in his second term, such as the implementation of tariffs, the tensions between the U.S. and Canada, or the Administration’s threat to public media.
The plot includes a scene in which Trump tries to have sex with Lucifer in bed, revealing a ridiculously small penis, which unleashes mockery typical of the series’ characteristic humor.
“The president is furious about ‘South Park’s’ childish attack,” declared a source from the Administration to the specialized media outlet Deadline.
The chapter also harshly criticizes Paramount, owners of CBS, who are recently under public scrutiny following the announcement of the cancellation of ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ citing financial reasons.
Many Colbert fans argued that the decision was a penalty for the comedian’s critical humor against Trump, and have pointed to the media conglomerate for bowing to the president.
Earlier this month, Paramount agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit filed by Trump, who alleged that CBS’s ’60 Minutes’ program had deceptively manipulated an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.
The ‘South Park’ episode mentions both events, and closes with a deepfake video of Trump wandering through a desert and taking off his clothes.
“His penis is tiny, but his love for us is huge,” says the narrator in the video.
