Thirteen injured after employee shuttle bus crashes into concrete barrier at Newark Airport

Thirteen people were injured Monday, three of them seriously, after an employee shuttle bus crashed into a concrete barrier at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 3:00 a.m. on Level 3 of the departures area at Terminal B, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The shuttle bus crashed into the concrete barrier after mounting a curb, according to local media reports.

Emergency crews, including Port Authority officers, responded to the scene to assist the passengers. In total, 13 people were injured, three seriously, although none of the injuries were considered life-threatening. The other 10 people suffered minor injuries.

Images from the scene showed the bus’s windshield completely shattered and significant damage to the vehicle’s right side following the impact.
