Trump threatens Musk with “very serious consequences” if he supports Democratic candidates

New York.- The American president, Donald Trump, warned this Saturday the technology magnate Elon Musk, with whom he had a complete breakdown in relations on Thursday, that he will face “very serious consequences” if he decides to support Democratic candidates who oppose the Republicans who vote in favor of his fiscal megaproject.

“If he does it, he will have to pay the consequences (…) He will have to pay very serious consequences if he does,” Trump declared in a telephone interview with the American network NBC without elaborating on the matter.

That bill, labeled by Musk as “a terrible abomination,” passed by a narrow margin and is now pending in the Senate before being put to a vote again in the House of Representatives.

In this sense, he added that he believes Elon Musk’s opposition to the bill, dubbed by Trump himself as a “big and beautiful” bill – which pursues significant tax cuts – has “highlighted his strengths”: “People who weren’t so focused on him started paying attention and saw how good he is,” Trump continued.

Likewise, the U.S. president responded “I suppose so” when asked if his relationship with the co-founder of Tesla was over and added that he “doesn’t” intend to reconcile with the world’s richest man.

“I consider that (what has happened) is something very bad, because it is very disrespectful. You cannot disrespect the presidency,” he added.

Accusation about Epstein case is “old news”

Regarding Musk’s accusations against him, claiming that the U.S. president was on the famous list of the sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein, Trump stated: “That’s called ‘old news’, it’s been talked about for years. Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It’s a thing of the past.”

Regarding the multimillion-dollar contracts that Musk’s business network has committed to the White House, and which Trump has threatened to cancel, he noted that “he could do it” but that, for the moment, he hasn’t thought about it.

“I really believe it’s a shame that Elon is so depressed and so heartbroken,” Trump said.

Until Thursday, Trump and Musk had collaborated closely, the South African entrepreneur even donated 250 million for the Republican’s re-election and they called each other “friends”, but the magnate’s departure from the Department of Governmental Efficiency began to raise doubts about their relationship which were consummated three days ago.

Musk intensified his attacks against Trump’s fiscal megaproject, and the situation just blew up when the owner of X accused the president of hiding the ‘Jeffrey Epstein list’ because his name appears on it, which led to a barrage of personal reproaches. The tech magnate, who until now had seen his support for Trump continue to push up the valuation of his companies, suggested that he would dismantle NASA’s SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, but five hours later he retracted.
