Two Dominican men have been arrested and charged in connection with the killing of a 69-year-old man during a home invasion in Milford, Connecticut, authorities say.
Iván Barias Florimón, 24, and Stuar López Reyes, 25, are accused of entering the home of Frederick Werner and his partner, Sandy Cooper, in the early hours of June 3. Investigators allege that the intruders shot Werner multiple times, killing him, and shot Cooper in the head. She survived and alerted police.
According to court documents cited by Diario Libre, investigators began looking into a possible connection to a former employee whom Cooper had fired after suspecting her of stealing from her real estate business. Both suspects face multiple charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, home invasion and attempted murder. They are being held on $3 million bail each.
