US denies alleged plans to displace Palestinians from Gaza to Libya

Tripoli,.- The United States Embassy in Libya denied this Friday the alleged plans to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the North African country and after the recent visit of the senior advisor to the US president, Donald Trump, for Middle Eastern, Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos. “The Embassy reiterates that claims that the United States intends to relocate the residents of Gaza to Libya are inflammatory and completely false,” it stated on the social network X.

The digital Axios assured last week that Israel was seeking Washington’s help to reach agreements with third countries to allow the expulsion of Palestinians from the Palestinian strip. According to this media outlet, which attributes the information to knowledgeable sources, Israel has initiated conversations with Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Libya. During Wednesday’s meeting between Boulos and the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Adeblhamid Dbebiba, a group of Libyans in Tripoli protested in front of the meeting building against the Executive and the normalization of relations with Israel with banners in Arabic and English. Dbeiba condemned “the crimes of hunger and continuous aggression” against the Palestinian people and stressed “the importance of immediately stopping the offensive” in addition to lifting the blockade on humanitarian aid.
